A grove of Jacquemonti birches welcomes visitors and residents into this 40-unit affordable housing community that seeks to foster a supportive community atmosphere encouraging respect and independence. Visitors and residents alike are greeted by an attractive community center that provides a gathering space for celebrations and meetings.

The units were located on the outer edges of the site in order to create a defined common space consisting of a neighborhood plaza, a large commons area and a creatively designed playground. Parking was kept to the exterior, creating a pedestrian and child-friendly atmosphere in the interior of the site. Extensive plantings were designed throughout the site creating a unique, yet harmonious relationship with Green Leaf Village, the adjacent affordable housing community. Apple Orchard builds upon the successes of Green Leaf, providing such highly desired amenities as a basketball court and both increased guest parking and open space.
