Schlesinger & Associates transformed an unusable backyard with dilapidated retaining walls and crumbling patios into a distinctive sequence of garden rooms. An existing lawn, struggling due to lack of sun, was relocated to a sunnier area. Colorful plant material with a variety of textures was artfully sited to defines spaces and create unique experiences in each room. Textured paving creates an easily maneuverable circulation pattern through each of the rooms. A custom gate and fencing welcomes visitors and residents into the transformed backyard while keeping the dog where he belongs.
