Oak Leaf - Eugene, Oregon

The mission: to renovate a bankrupt market rate housing community into affordable housing, creating a livable residence within a tight space. After choosing to accept the mission, Schlesinger & Associates worked with the architect to improve the livability of this small housing community by relocating the parking closer to the residences, adjusting the overall circulation and concentrating the recycling and refuse collection in one area to increase the amount of green space. Lush plantings soften the building edges, create a welcoming entry and help define a private patio space for each unit.
